How does Unfilled Recovery work?

  1. The ad request is sent by your ad slot, but it ends up being unfilled by your demand.

  2. Unfilled Recovery ad unit is rendered. Unfilled Recovery operates on a Google Publisher Tag event basis and checks the ad server response.

    1. This step is triggered by the Google Publisher Tag event slotRenderEnded.
    2. Size mapping is inherited from the “original” ad unit. Hence, there is no shift in layout.
  3. The auction is started, using Yieldbird’s demand sources. These can include Google Ad Exchange, Open Bidding, Prebid (only if Prebid Stack is being used), and direct campaigns.

  4. The new ad is rendered, resulting in impression and revenue.

If our ad unit is not filled, the ad request is passbacked to you to show, e.g. house campaigns.
