Scroll Slowing

Gently slowing the pace of page scroll when the ad slot is in the viewport.

How does it work?

  1. First the algorithm looks for the moment when the ad slot is in the User’s viewport
  2. When that event is detected the scrolling speed of the user is slightly & gradually decreased; the strength of this is defined as Slowing factor [%] on Domain level.
  3. The effect is automatically deactivated when the impression meets IAB viewability criteria.

Example:

See it on a page: link

Slowing intensity

Allows you to specify how noticeable the scroll decrease is.

Stop scrolling mode

In this mode if the user attempts to scroll away before the Ad is counted as viewed, the scrolling action will be temporarily stopped at the moment the Ad is about to leave the viewport.

Even though this option may sound “nuclear,” it is the easiest to enforce in the user’s browser. This means that if you experience technical difficulties enabling Scroll Slowing on your Domain, this option is the most likely to work.
